Project Overview:
The recently completed Berners & Wells development stands proudly at the heart of Fitzrovia, offering top-tier office accommodations spread across 56,000 square feet, spanning both Berners Street and Wells Street.
GA Fixings Ltd’s Contribution:
GA Fixings Ltd played a significant role in the Berners Street project by supplying seven levels of masonry support, primarily for the Wells Mews area. Our standout contribution includes the radiused masonry support for the glazed white and green brick detail, which is a key architectural feature of the development.

Design and Sustainability:
The project involved adding two new floors to the existing structure on Wells Street, using a bespoke blend of Imperial Size Charnwood handmade bricks to match the original facade seamlessly. On Berners Street, the new structure features lofty glazed arches and a gracefully curved glazed facade on Wells Mews, linking the two sections of the development.
The comprehensive scheme includes modifications, extensions, and refurbishments to existing office buildings at 68-71 Newman Street and 9-12 Berners Mews. This includes unifying these structures, constructing a two-storey roof extension, and making various enhancements to the existing elevations and internal spaces.
Located north of Oxford Street, this mixed-use development introduces 75,000 square feet of new office and retail space, alongside significant enhancements to the surrounding public realm. The ground and first floors offer flexible retail space, while the upper floors provide user-centric workspaces.

The Berners & Wells development is the Winner of the Commercial category of the 2024 Brick Awards, highlighting its excellence in design and construction.
