Wall Ties at Movement Joints

Wall ties should be provided at vertical movement joints to provide the wall with lateral stability, whilst still allowing the masonry to expand and contract.

This is achieved by using debonding sleeves over plain ended ties. The debonding sleeve stops the tie bonding to the mortar leaving it free to move with the expansion/construction of the wall.
