Column Ties

The GA column tie enables blockwork to be tied back to the structural steelwork eliminating the need for shot-firing, drilling and welding and is suitable for use on columns with flange thicknesses up to 19.6mm.

The tie must be tied into the internal leaf only with a minimum embedment of 60mm.

The flange of the column must penetrate the slot by at least 10mm.

GA recommend that the column flange be painted with bitumous paint where the column tie is lacerated to avoid the risk of bimetallic corrosion.
