Brickwork Reinforcement

 

GA offer a range of bed joint masonry reinforcement meshes all of which comply to the recommendations laid down in BS 5628.

Bed joint masonry reinforcement can be used to:-

1. Increase brick and block panel sizes
2. Replace windposts and piers
3. Strengthen stack bonding/solder coursing
4. Widen movement joint spacing
5. Strengthen corners
6. Protect against cracking

GALM/1
Cross sectional area = 20.12mm squared

GALM/1 complies with BS 5628 1995 and consists of 3.58mm flattened main wires and 2.5mm cross-wires at 450mm centres. Supplied in 3.150m lengths GALM/1 is available in grade 304 S15 stainless and galvanised mild steel.

GALM/2

GALM/2 has been designed for use in double leaf collar joint walls and complies with BS 5628 Part One for double leaf walls.
By using 2 x 100mm blocks tied together with GALM/2 heavy 215mm blocks may be dispensed with.

GALM/2 consists of 4mm flattened main wires and 20mm x 3mm flat cross ties at 450mm centres.
Supplied in 3.150m lengths GALM/2 is available in stainless and galvanised mild steel.

Cross sectional area = 25.12mm squared in each leaf

GALM/3 complies with BS 5628 1995 and consists of 4mm flattened main wires and 4mm flattened cross wires drip at 450mm centres.

Supplied in 3.150m lengths GALM/3 is available in grade 304 S15 stainless steel.

GA/EM is used for general crack control but can also be used to bond walls to reinforced concrete frames. GA/EM is supplied in 20m coils with sheets available on request.
